Copper Nickel tubes, 30% – C71500 - has, in general, the best resistance of any of the copper alloys to impingement attack and to corrosion from most acids and waters. It is being used in severe corrosive conditions in which service lives longer than those of other copper alloys are desired.
This form of cupro nickel tubes produced by Tube Tech possess excellent resistance to corrosion by sea water as well as high resistance to erosion corrosion and air-impingement attack. The addition of iron results in 90/10 performing as good as 70/30 in salt water service heat exchangers

This specification covers welded copper-nickel alloy pipes produced from Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C70600 and C71500 for general engineering applications. Pipes may be produced in any one of the following tempers: as-welded from annealed sheets, strips, or plates (WM50); as-welded from cold-worked sheets, strips, or plates (WM00, WM01, WM02, and so forth); welded and annealed (WO50); welded, light cold drawn (WR00) or hard cold drawn (WR04), and stress relieved; or fully finished as annealed, light drawn (WH00) or hard drawn (WH04), and stress relieved.

Copper Nickel tubes, 10% – C70600 - exhibits excellent resistance to impingement attack. It is also highly resistant to SCC. This alloy is suitable for Marine condenser tube installations in place of Aluminum Brass, especially where higher water velocities are encountered.
